Faculty Position in Hydrogeology and Sustainable Groundwater Management – UC Chile

The School of Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC Chile) is pleased to announce an international call for applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Hydrogeology and Sustainable Groundwater Management at the Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering. Key Information & Role Details
• Position: Assistant Professor level (exceptional applications at the Associate Professor level are also welcome).
• Institution: Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering, School of Engineering, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Santiago, Chile).
• Primary Focus: Strengthening core research in groundwater flow and hydrogeological processes, with emphasis on quantitative understanding, observation, and modeling of saturated and variably saturated systems (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW, MIKE SHE, hybrid/data-driven approaches).
• Core Duties: Conducting high-impact research, securing external funding, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising graduate students (doctoral level), and developing interdisciplinary initiatives.

Requirements:
• Ph.
D. in Civil Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geological/Earth Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated research excellence and publication record indexed in Web of Science.
