Role Description The Head of Maintenance at Hotel Mae Spa is a full-time, on-site role based in Maitencillo. This position oversees all maintenance operations for the hotel and spa facilities, ensuring safety, comfort, and reliability for guests and team members. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing maintenance schedules, supervising inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and coordinating repairs to guest rooms, common areas, spa equipment, and outdoor spaces. The role involves managing a maintenance team, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations. The Head of Maintenance also collaborates with hotel leadership on budget planning, vendor management, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
Qualifications
• Strong skills in Maintenance & Repair and general Maintenance for hotel, spa, and facility environments.
• Experience with Preventive Maintenance programs, including scheduling, documentation, and follow-up.
• Proven Maintenance Management capabilities, including prioritizing work orders and coordinating with other departments.
• Demonstrated Team Management skills for leading, training, and developing maintenance staff.
• Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems relevant to hospitality facilities.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, safety regulations, and maintenance documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to respond quickly to urgent issues.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and external vendors.
• Experience in hotel or spa maintenance is highly desirable; prior supervisory experience is a plus.
• Relevant technical education or certification in facilities maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferred.
