**About the role**

Siemens Large Drives is the global market leader with a future-proof drive technology portfolio. We deliver products, solutions, and services for Mining and other industries in Chile, Perú, and other countries in South America (include Colombia) and we are looking for a Counsel Legal and Compliance located in Santiago.
**The main challenges**
- Provide legal and compliance solutions and advice to business segments to facilitate the business goals and objectives, especially drafting, reviewing and negotiation of all legal documents and transactional support (ideally in mining sector).
- Ensure local implementation of the Companies’ Compliance System in the fields of Anti
- Corruption, Antitrust, Data Privacy, AML and Ethics. Support the Global Compliance Officer in the further development of the Compliance System.
- Monitor implemented compliance standards, perform regular compliance control program, and ensure continuous improvement.
- Manage operational Compliance activities like due diligences, reviews, and approvals.
- Conduct or facilitate in-house legal and compliance training.
- Manage project specific limits of authorization (risk management) regarding release/approval of specific contract risks and the Compliance Risk Evaluation.
- Handle disputes, actual and threatened litigation as well as claim management matters in order to mitigate risks and capture opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with and supervise external counsel or investigator including management of budget for external counsel.
- Align with our General Counsel of Americas and with global colleagues, at Headquarters in Germany and in other regions for Legal and Compliance related topics.
- Develop and maintain contract templates and training material.
- Maintain and share up-to-date knowledge of Chilean and Peruvian Legal developments.
**What would we like to find?**
- Lawyer, admitted to the bar in Chile or Perú markets, with excellent Chilean, Peruvian and Colombian law know how.
- At least 5 years work experience in a similar position gained in a leading reputable law firm or in-house position.
- Comprehensive experience in the area of Compliance as a trusted advisor to the business.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience, with ability to effectively partner with business clients to jointly solve complex issues throughout the contract life cycle.
- Business oriented, self-motivated, hands-on mentality and able to lead multiple tasks in a dynamic corporate environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with high level of proficiency in verbal and written English and Spanish.
