We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled **Field Construction Coordinator**to join our team at K&A Engineering in **Santiago, Chile.** In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. You’ll be part of a dynamic, people-focused team where your expertise, ideas, and contributions will be valued and celebrated.
Responsibilities & Duties:
**Role Expectations**:
- Work with Construction Managers managing the construction of electric substations, distribution lines, generation upgrades, and other projects
- Execute work orders and inspections
- Supervise contractors and make sure projects are being completed correctly
- Establish and Manage construction materials and review material plans
- Maintain Safety Awareness and ensure all contractors comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures to assure a safe working environment at the construction site
- Manage activities related to coordination of field inspection and sign-offs for construction projects.
- Collaborate with management staff to resolve problems and coordinate activities with the Construction Managers and Field Construction Managers.
- Make sure projects and all construction resources are within the allowed scheduled and budget
- Adhere to company policies, programs, and procedures as well as Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American
- Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), New England Independent System Operator
Qualifications & Skills:
**What we’re looking for**:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in progressive related electric utility industry experience, with transmission facilities construction management
- Two (2) years of college is preferred
- Prior US Project Experience is a plus
- Good working knowledge through actual use of MS Office products including Excel, Access, Word and MS Project
- Basic knowledge of various electric utility assets and equipment
- Must be able to speak English fluently and comfortably
- Knowledge of SAP Software is a plus
- Ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences both in writing and verbally
- Must have extensive knowledge in construction and maintenance of Utility equipment, including but not limited to transmission and distribution systems, underground networks, and substations
- Able to assess the health of Utility assets and equipment as they relate to the utility inspection program.
- Able to physically walk distribution lines or remote transmission right of ways
- Experience in interaction with contractors and assessing their work
- Must have current US Work authorization and valid US Driver’s License in good standing
- Must be able to relocate to Upstate New York (Rochester, Buffalo, Binghamton, Liberty, Brewster, or Mechanicville) for 12 months or for the full duration of the assignment
