Tax Manager

**Position Overview**:
The Manager of Tax and Administration - Chile will oversee the day-to-day administration of our chilean subsidiary, as well as manage our outsourced accounting, tax, financial and legal services, reporting to the Finance Department and Legal Department.

**Responsibilities**:

- Help the company scale for growth through oversight of accounting, tax, financial, legal, compliance, payroll, and administrative services
- Support the General Counsel in matters relating to corporate governance and regulatory compliance, including with respect to entity structure and implementing related processes as necessary
- Develop permanent set up of transfer pricing arrangements in compliance with local and international tax regulations
- Review all monthly payment requests, bank administration and reconciliation (in both CLP and USD), treasury, and payments from the chilean bank account prior to payment
- Complete settlement of taxes and payroll-related tax items according to the local regulations and the fiscal calendar
- Review all elements of payroll for chilean employees prior to submission for processing
- Oversee and respond to requests from external auditors and tax preparers; prepare supporting documentation as required
- Oversee and partner with the Controller - Chile to:

- Prepare, maintain, examine, and analyze accounting records and financial statements in chilean pesos (CLP), including but not limited to expense and income reports and accounts payable and receivable reports
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closing processes, including applicable analysis and support during close processes
- Prepare monthly management reports and analyses for Director of Accounting and the Chief Financial Officer as needed
- Manage and ensure that accounting processes comply with internal, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) with reconciliation to US GAAP where necessary, and local statutory regulations; review and improve these processes as needed
- Assume local responsibility for legal and administrative matters, including through partnering with the U.S. administrative, accounting, human resources, and legal teams
- Draft and execute employment contracts and annexes; keep records using established and approved systems (e.g., Dropbox)
- Act as the company signatory with associated Power of Attorney privileges
- Support the General Counsel in monitoring regulatory developments relevant to the Company's business
- Support the General Counsel in reviewing corporate documents for compliance with legal requirements, and ensuring they remain current with applicable laws and regulations
- Support the General Counsel in drafting and negotiation of legal agreements and documents
- Oversight of our Santiago office as it relates to building management and security, technology, custodial services and similar
- Other necessary duties that arise and/or are assigned

**Requirements and Qualifications**:

- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or higher; or international equivalent (or a law degree in tax)
- Minimum 5 years of tax experience and minimum 3 years of management/supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of local regulations and required compliance
- Skilled user of NetSuite or similar accounting software
- Strong familiarity with Chile statutory reporting requirements and government reporting systems relating to tax (compliance, transfer pricing, etc.), corporate governance, and employment regulation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced in Outlook and Excel
- Possess strong administrative and time management skills; self-starter and ability to multi-task
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated success collaborating effectively in a complex, multicultural environment

- Big 4 experience or prior work history with a chilean law firm
