**Position Summary**

Bechtel is seeking an Expediting Supervisor for the Mining & Metals team, based in Chile. The position will be responsible for Superving area expediters within an assigned geographic area in the expediting of suppliers through direct contact with supplier personnel at their facilities and personal observation of the status of materials and equipment being supplied.

**Responsibilities**

The Expediting Supervisor is principally responsible for:

- Monitors, controls and evaluates the activities and performance of Area Expeditors through personal observation at supplier facilities and review of reports and correspondence.
- Performs special tasks or assignments in a specialist capacity based on unique product expertise or knowledge of production processes. Such assignments involve unique project requirements, interfaces and assumption of additional responsibility.
- As assigned, undertakes the primary expediting role for major purchases to include functions that may normally be performed by both project and area expediting personnel. Assignment may involve direct follow-up with sub-suppliers and authority to make appropriate sub-assignments, with direction of Area Expediters concerned.
- Reviews assignments, travel expenses, workloads, itineraries, expediting reports, and other area expediting data to assure adequate expediting coverage, workload balance and economical expenditures of job-hours and travel funds.
- Provides initial orientation and training for new area Expediting personnel. Ensures continued training and coaching. Assists in the planning and conducting of training seminars.
- Provides expediting assistance and arranges for management support when needed. Identifies and solves problems by direct contact with suppliers. Performs special projects as requested by project or global business unit Procurement management. Initiates follow-on actions as necessary.
- Conducts annual reviews and career discussions, when delegated specific authority.
- Promotes interface between Expeditors and other Procurement disciplines, such as the Supplier Quality Department.
- Assists in the recruitment of personnel and conducts interviews with persons in assigned area for employment with Bechtel. Makes employment recommendations to business unit Expediting Manager.

**Qualifications and Skills**

**Basic Qualifications**

The Expediting Supervisor shall be knowledgeable and/or experienced in:

- Proficient in expediting techniques and procurement practices.
- Good understanding of project and procurement functional responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques, and general administration.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.

- _ Knowledge of global business unit-unique equipment fabrication gained through work experience or specialized training_
