IT Security Engineer II

As a Security Engineer - Application Security, your specific responsibilities will focus on building security checks and tooling into development pipelines and building new tools for teams to use:

Develop supply-chain security by maintaining known-good versions of dependencies and scanning dependencies for vulnerabilities
- Staying up-to-date on the latest open-source software vulnerabilities and vulnerabilities in commercially-supplied software
- Helping the organization to respond to security incidents in software components by building and deploying new versions of code as necessary
- Helping the organization stay secure from ransomware by maintaining archival copies of software and code developed or deployed at Robert Half
- Scanning built software for certain quality metrics such as critical vulnerability count and rejecting builds that do not meet quality metrics automatically
- Detecting secrets embedded in code and rotating/redacting them as necessary
- Helping to integrate code scanning and code quality results into the Security Insights Program, reporting on results and outcomes to teams
- Assess and update internal project engagement methodology and process to better align with the SDLC.
- Support team and vendors in developing a secure solution to support business needs and to provide security review and certification to ensure best practice and quality delivery of all technical solution that meet security requirements.
- Provide timely and relevant metrics on security matters to develop security risk analysis scenarios and response procedures.
Carry out acquisition and vendor technical risk assessment due diligence.
- Involved in the evaluation of products and/or procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
- Play a critical role in the technical coordination and remediation of any needed incident response activities required during a Security Incident Response event.

Qualifications:

- BS in computer science or similar technical degree or 2+ years’ working experience in IT technical field.
- CISSP preferred.
- 3+ years’ IT security engineering experience or a non-technical degree with 5+ years’ security engineering experience.
- Security related technologies and solutions (firewalls, IPS, WIDS, WAF, SIEM, DLP, RMS, vulnerability scanner, web proxy, endpoint security, etc); Network security experience is a plus.
- Ability to interact and communicate with customers of varying levels of expertise.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Ability to communicate business process to technical resources.
- Ability to create simple process flow diagrams or flowcharts that demonstrate business or system security process flow.
- Ability to gather requirements and create assessment plans.
- Ability to prioritize job responsibilities.
- Demonstrated customer service abilities.
- Knowledge of security systems software.
- Ability to write simple queries and reports.
- Ability to work to a project plan, meeting established deliverables and timelines.
- Ability to execute based upon directions from senior team member.
- Adaptability and demonstrates good judgment.
- Ability to use good judgment and think outside the box in addressing unique information security challenges.
- Ability to think independently and in team setting to ensure security issues are addressed in a manner consistent with security principles in mind.
