Introduction
We are seeking a Senior IT Specialist to join our regional IT team in Chile. In the regional IT team our main responsabilities are manage business expectations, demand & requests, improvement of business process, manage country infrastructure environment to assure business operations during the day by day activities as well as implement new technologies defined by global and regional IT. In addition, we are handling local vendors and following up end-user support services provided by third-party provider.
This position is mainly located in Santiago, and it involves up to 25% of travel.
What you’ll do
In this role your primary responsibility will be supporting end user computing related activities, enhance voice and printing services, manage local vendors, including new negotiations, actively involved in TCS service follow-up (Service Desk and On-Site Support), participating in weekly meetings, reviewing the operation, numbers, age of tickets, points to improve, reporting deviations and behavior. It also includes support for implementation of global initiatives related to office consolidations, merging and acquisitions, servers and cloud services, end-user computing, cybersecurity. Assist IT manager in all subsequent scope of work assigned not limiting to the above role description.
You will work in close cooperation with other Metso IT teams in our region and globally, in addition to subcontractor service providers.
To succeed
To succeed in this role, you should have at least 10 years working in IT, strong fundamentals in ITIL, strong technical and management skills, strong fundamentals in project management. Availability to frequent travels mainly inside Chile (national travels) to visit Metso sites and mining sites to audit IT infrastructure and services. You have Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant field. You have the ability to adapt to new things quickly and you are able to work under pressure. You have good communication and social skills and you enjoy working in an international and innovative environment. You use your good collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders globally to ensure the targets are met in time. You manage and organize your own work well and you are fluent in English and Spanish, Portuguese is desirable.
