Recently, Unilever decided to separate the Tea business to ensure it can best achieve its potential and renamed it to ekaterra to facilitate its separation to a standalone entity.

- Your role:

- Lead Scientist for Direct Market (Chile) with oversight and management for Sales Markets (LatAm, Caribbean, Mexico Region) for Regulatory, Compliance & Nutrition Program
- Leads Claims Strategy as well as Regulatory and Compliance Program in collaboration with Scientific Affairs and R&D Teams
- Ensures regulatory requirements are integrated in core business process (innovation, product changes, new claims and communication)
- Ensures compliance of labels and packaging of products related to all regulatory requirement
- Communicates information on issues, issue management, and regulatory news
- Shapes claims strategies and proactively engages with Brand and Business teams in creating progressive and robust compliance framework
- Ensure regulatory compliance during the risk assessment evaluations lead by business core teams (ex. Exceptions/Quality non compliance)
- Regional responsibility for providing Nutrition, Health & Wellness insights for product, concept and communication development
- Define key Nutrition Health & Wellness messages and be involved in claims co-generation for regional innovation-, renovation
- and related projects
- Drive and integrate the nutrition and health strategy for ekaterra and brands, taking into account potential risks and opportunities for particular claims or position
- Lead adaptation and development of effective health influencer communication materials (Q&A documents, key messages, reference materials etc.) aligned with global strategy for the region
- Support the introduction and maintenance of product innovations in Chile with support to Latin America region in a Nutrition, Health & Wellness context
- Responsibility for Nutrition, Health & Wellness communication of brands & products in their region
- Supports brand building with the marketing of products with a nutrition and/or health proposition by ensuring (development of) nutritionally/scientifically sound communication and activations
- Develop and drive relevant and deployable consumer and health influencer strategy as part of wider communication plan in close cooperation with marketing
- Manages advocacy areas relevant for ekaterra Latin America
- Sets and agrees agenda of advocacy topic(s) including regulatory, nutrition & health
- Drives the position on the topic and related communication plan with other functions
- Stakeholder management and reporting (internal as business partner, external as advocate)
- Shapes advocacy strategy for Latin America ensuring effective cascading of information to key functions within the ekaterra
- Monitors the external and internal environment
- Drives for change in regulation or establishing new product regulations
- Defends ekaterra position in the face of new regulations or amendment in regulations
- Develops and maintains excellent interfaces with relevant internal and external partners
- Works collaboratively with global and Americas Scientific Affairs team
- Strengthens/builds networks as required (with technical regulators and relevant KOFs)
- Represents ekaterra with external bodies (Trade Associations, regulatory authorities etc)
- Who we are looking for:

- Bachelor’s degree required, M.S or Ph.D. in Food Science, Biological Science, or Chemistry or e
