Project Manager I - IT

As an IT Project Manager I, your specific responsibilities will include:

- Plan own work priorities and those of the project team, seeking guidance in some situations.
- Manage smaller, single issue projects or a specific work-stream (technology platform) within larger projects.
- Project point of contact for communications, milestones and review briefings.
- Assure effective transition into production and meeting production acceptance readiness criteria.
- Develop, update and maintain project plan and other project documentation.
- Effective organization of meetings to ensure flow, participation, progress, proactive mitigation of risks and issues.
- Manage, lead project team in, project activities including analysis, design and development, testing, training, implementation and post implementation.
- Assign tasks, provide guidance, mentor project team.
- Plan and direct schedules to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
- Consider impacts to project timeline and take action to minimize them; carefully control change.
- Analyze and facilitate resolution of issues.
- Interact with necessary stakeholders/team members to manage project scope and identify, evaluate, communicate, escalate issues.
- Communicate status of project within and across departments.
- Oversee effective communications on the part of the team, ensure project status is accurately reflected and published.
- Accurate communications in person and in writing.
- Overall status reporting and stability of project oriented work efforts.
- Track key project milestones and adjusts project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of the project.
- Issues and risk reporting and communications as appropriate.
- Budget reporting and forecast reporting to Portfolio Manager for purposes of regular portfolio rollups.
- With assistance from Portfolio Manager, interactive budget reporting to manage capital versus expense allocation with IT Finance.
- Full meeting documentation, decision documentation, published and posted to project-specific SharePoint site.
- Consistent and full updates of project-specific SharePoint site to ensure it can be utilized for the most up-to-date information on the project by all project stakeholders.
- Typically work on non-complex, straightforward projects.
- Make decisions regarding project parameters.
- Coordinate the project estimates.
- Estimate the efforts of tasks and initiatives with project team members to determine total timeline and detailed budget for projects.
- Perform risk assessments with project teams and document contingency plans.
- Utilize standard mechanisms to document risk management plan, and lead team through identification and establishment of risk assessment. Manage these risks following standard processes.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required, preferably in IT Project Management.
- CaPM desired (or comparable PM certification).
- 3+ years’ IT experience of which is required 2+ years’ project management experience.
- Project planning: some experience translating functional requirements into project plans.
- Project implementation: proven experience in implementing all phases.
- Project management fundamentals: intermediate knowledge of schedule, budget, risk management, issues management, leadership.
- Documentation: consistently clear, accurate.
- Communication: consistently demonstrates above average clear, articulate, concise; verbal and written.
- Organization/prioritization: consistently utilized and effective over own work.
- Demonstrated effective use and experience with MS Project, Visio, and Excel.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Problem analysis and solving skills.
