Security Technical Writer

The Technical Writer for the Security team

is a resourceful researcher responsible for generating innovative ideas for technical content while working both independently and as part of a team.

the technology that keeps the Salesforce platform secure, and write documentation that helps our engineers design, build, and deploy securely-built features. They'll write and edit material for high-level overviews and task-based developer guides, working with complex technical concepts.

**Job Description**:
Strong verbal and written communication and data presentation skills.

Understands software engineers and their pain points and motivations.

Previous experience writing technical documentation for an engineering audience.

Has a working knowledge of cloud providers and service offerings. General knowledge or experience in cybersecurity is a plus.

Curiosity, willingness to learn and technical acumen are essential qualities for success

Can carve out focused time on a busy day to get work done independently.

Can dig deep into technology and troubleshoot issues independently.

Can be persistent and creative in order to get the information needed to get the job done.

Deadline-driven, with a proactive mindset to get the job done quickly and efficiently.

Ability to take ideas from concept to completion, meet deadlines, and follow-up swiftly and thoroughly are critical to success in this role.

Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate and take constructive feedback from co-workers and stakeholders, and give constructive feedback to others in a concise, clear, and professional manner.

Ability to take direction, feedback and guidance from management and provide frequent project updates to ensure alignment with team goals.

Comfortable and effective with rapidly shifting priorities and stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or an English degree, or equivalent experience

Excellent English writing and editing skills

Minimum 5 years of experience writing and editing developer documentation

Knowledge of Confluence, HTML, or other web-based authoring tools

Experience with software development tools and practices (version control, development environments, testing)

Knowledge of Agile methodologies

Experience with cloud computing, web services, and SaaS

Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work on multiple projects simultaneously

Strong team player with great people and communication skills
