Systems Engineer III
LOCATION
SAN RAMON
Job duties: Maintain the integrity, availability, and security of the Robert Half computing infrastructure. This position will be part of the installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, and fine-tuning the infrastructure across the organization in a timely and efficient manner. Understand and monitor the network integration and related functions for Robert Half computing systems. Provide technical direction and strategy for technical system selection and deployment as a leader in the standards group in the Systems Engineering team. Work with project managers and business owners to determine business requirements for new system capabilities and take responsibility for service delivery aligned with requirements. Research systems engineering products and services and determine applicability to Robert Half's computing environments, creating recommendations for implementation. Architect complex business systems using a mixture of standard and custom hardware and software to meet Robert Half's business needs. Author documents - specifications, standards, procedures, and policies to support Robert Half enterprise infrastructure recommendations based on research and architecture recommendations. Lead process improvement efforts by providing constructive feedback, suggesting alternatives, and driving continuous process improvement. Deploy systems to support enterprise infrastructure as well as project initiatives within Robert Half. Maintain and monitor the functionality of systems Infrastructure. Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed from anywhere in the U.S.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1) Administering Windows and Linux servers, installing and configuring enterprise systems. (2 years)
2) Experience with installation, configuration and maintenance of Server and Computer Systems. (2 years)
3) PowerShell scripting to automate various windows tasks. (2 years)
4) Administrating and Maintaining VMWare/Terminal server environment. (2 years)
5) Experience in load balancers. (2 years)
6) AWS cloud utilizing various services including infrastructure as code.
7) SQL Server & Oracle DB (using SQL studio tools to run basic SQL commands)
