**Position Summary**

Bechtel is seeking a Deputy Quality Manager for the Mining & Metals team, based in Chile. The position will be responsible for reporting to the Project Quality Manager and provides leadership to quality activities conducted on the project as well as implementation of the project quality plan and programs. Leading and mentoring quality team members and monitoring the project quality activities to ensure compliance with the approved standards, specifications, procedures and schedules.

**Responsibilities**

The Deputy Quality Manager is principally responsible for:

- Participating in development, coordination, communication and concurs with Quality policies, standards, core programs and procedures for use across the project.
- Aligning quality culture and programs with business strategy to improve project performance.
- Building and driving competency/training program to drive the quality culture and processes across the project.
- Managing the project level Quality Management System certification and representing the project/GBU during audits conducted by client, management, or regulatory agencies.
- Providing oversight/review/evaluation of projects at project request and managing the schedule for quality oversight reviews.
- Providing oversight and input to the quality elements of project execution plans, procedures and project quality plans.
- Participating in client interactions to achieve alignment.
- Developing schedule, budgets and staffing planning for quality activities.
- Managing and coordinating talent acquisition/strategic hires and assignment within the project (with D&I considerations).
- Coordinating, schedules and communicates Project Management Review requirements with functions to ensure management review goals and objectives are met.
- Leading and directing discussions in management reviews.
- Presenting quality strategy and programing elements to senior management and clients.

**Qualifications and Skills**

**Basic Qualifications**

The Deputy Quality Manager shall be knowledgeable and/or experienced in:

- Bachelor degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, quality assurance or business administration from an accredited university, AND a minimum of 15 years’ experience in a field of engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations, or quality assurance; OR in lieu of formal degree, specialized courses or certifications (ASME/ANSI, ASQ) in engineering, quality or a specialized discipline, AND a minimum of 21 years of experience in a field of engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations or quality assurance.
- Prior experience as a project Quality Manager/Supervisor/Lead.

- Proficiency in oral and written communications.
- Proficiency in providing direction and on the job training to assigned personnel.
- Proficiency in establishing and controlling budget.
- Proficiency in the use of a PC computer and Microsoft software.
- Thorough knowledge of Bechtel's administrative practices and supervisory experience.
- Thorough knowledge of and experience with construction codes and standards.
- Bechtel Project Quality Manager Certification (BCERT) (optional).
- Yellow Belt, Black Belt, or Champion Six Sigma Certification (optional).
