**Job Profile Summary

Independently performs staff level finance functions to support various financial activities depending on location and business unit. Provides technical finance expertise and guidance on finance issues. Makes business decisions and provides well-developed recommendations. Activities include, but are not limited to, corporate financing, cash management, financial risk management, business risk management, distribution network financial development, trade finance, and developing distribution network financing plans.

JOB DUTIES: The Senior Finance Analyst within Distribution Services is expected to provide technical expertise and guidance to peers as well as recommendations to supervisor on finance issues.

The incumbent will lead projects to conclusion by compiling information, analyzing data, recommending and implementing solutions and will provide information and analysis used to make and/or influence business decisions. Typically, projects and decisions will impact medium to high-risk issues.

Finance responsibilities are of high complexity including conducting financing alternatives analysis - both corporate and dealer, analyzing financial statements, managing cash assets and bank accounts, executing currency hedging analysis and trades, conducting business risk management, and supporting trade finance.

The incumbent is capable of handling broader business issues such as delivering presentations to business unit and corporate leadership teams, working with cross-functional disciplines to solve business problems, and using business acumen to support a broad range of activities.

Incumbent will interface with Caterpillar employees from many disciplines, customers and suppliers throughout the world.

The Senior Finance Analyst within Distribution Services demonstrates very good communication skills and has a comprehensive knowledge of their business unit, suppliers and customers.

Moderate travel required (10%-20% of working time). This is a developmental role for the Finance Representative position, so future flexibility for relocations may be required.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: A 4 year degree in finance, business administration or accounting is required. Three to five years of finance experience are typically required. Requires knowledge of company policies, practices and systems. Must demonstrate initiative, leadership, judgment and decision-making skills. The incumbent must have the ability to work effectively and independently with people at all levels within and outside the department. Solid project management skills and excellent team leadership, human interaction, and communications skills are necessary. Knowledge of other business functions is desirable. Must have the ability to learn and adapt quickly to a variety of work environments and circumstances. Needs to possess strong personal computer knowledge. English required. Spanish preferred (classes will be required if not business fluent), Portuguese preferred.
