**Company Overview**

Mainstream Renewable Power is the leading independent developer of utility-scale wind and solar power plants. The company is focused on delivering a high-quality portfolio of more than seven gigawatts of wind and solar assets across high-growth markets in Latin America, Africa and Asia.

In Chile, Mainstream owns 1.3GW of fully contracted wind and solar projects in operation, in construction or at late stage development, due to its unprecedented success in government auctions.
**Summary of Role**

The Public Affairs & Communities Coordinator for New Business is a graduated professional preferably from the social or environmental sciences. He/she will have at least 10 years of laboral experience with more than 5 years of recently experience on socio-environmental assessment and permits management in extractive or renewable energy industry in Chile. Knowledge in environmental law and conversational English language is a must.
- Social Risk and Impact: Evaluate social risk and socio-environmental impacts, identifying mitigation and prevention measures, and ensure their implementation on due diligence process and development projects.
- Public Affairs and Stakeholders Engagement: Build relationships of trust with key political actors to enable projects in territories.
- Social Management System SMS: Ensure implementation of SMS and Mainstream standards, ensure an adequate level of registration and reportability of social performance, and define and manage social budget of each development project.
- Social Team: Oversee social performance and maintain a good work environment.
**What you will do?**

Office Functions:

- Identify key stakeholders and keep the stakeholder map updated for development projects.
- Identify actors and socio-political scene of the territory.
- Identify and manage socio-environmental and socio-political risks of the territories.
- Advise the M&A, projects and environmental team on socio-environmental issues to consider enabling the business in Chile.
- Prepare reports to social issues for due diligence process or early development decision.
- Oversee and review human environment baselines for processes of environmental evaluation.
- Prepare and support to team of project and environmental team to process of citizen participation and indigenous consultation.
- Define annually a Social Management Plan of each development projects.
- Oversee social performance of each development projects.
- Prepare annually budget associated with each development projects.
- Review reports on time and ensure to keep monthly updated records associated with socio performance (traceability).

On Site Functions:

- Oversee Social Management Plan of the projects.
- Oversee compliance of collaboration agreements with the community.
- Ensure that the social commitments are fulfilled on time (volunteers and associated with RCAs).
- Collaborate with project and environmental team process of citizen participation and indigenous consultation.
- Collaborate with project and environmental team in their socio-political enable in the territory (definition of negotiation strategies with owners and obtaining permits).
- Put on value the company's contribution to local development with the key stakeholders in the territory.
**What we require?**

Educational, Knowledge and Experience Background:

- Professional degree in social or environmental sciences, at least 5 years of recent experience on socio-environmental assessment in due diligence process / projects and permit management.
- Experience working with environmental authorities.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and mining or energy projects.
- Knowledge of conversational English preferred.

Travel Availability:

- Must be based in Santiago and must be able to travel periodically to visit opportunities business or development projects in Chile.
