Job Description:
For decades, Caterpillar has been on an automation journey. Today, Cat technologies make it possible to automate a single mining process, remotely control a single machine, automate multiple types of equipment across your fleet, or implement a completely autonomous fleet of haul trucks that operate around the clock with no human intervention.
As a Business Development Manager for our Autonomous Hauling Solutions (AHS), you will play a pivotal role in expanding our business across North and South America. Your mission is to drive growth by overseeing and coordinating all sales and marketing activities for Command for hauling, focusing on delivering long-term value to the client.
You will dive deep into client profiles to uncover opportunities, develop sales strategies, engage with clients to understand their needs, and provide tailored solutions. You'll develop innovative comprehensive proposals that address their requirements and skillfully negotiate to secure favorable terms. Additionally, you will work closely with the contract team to finalize agreements.
Your efforts will be instrumental in driving the success of AHS, making a tangible impact on our clients' operations and our company's growth.
What you will do:
• Following organizational policies and procedures and maintaining clear and direct line of communication within the organization to meet client requirements.
• Liaise with dealers and internal business partners about sales opportunities you will be managing.
• Designing processes for informing client of rates, shipping date, anticipated delays and any additional information needed by the clients.
• Working directly with client to collect information, sell additional products and services to current clients, and ensure clients' needs are met.
What you have:
Customer Focus: Extensive experience in deal creation and providing effective solutions to clients.
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in mining operations or technology. Sales or engineering experience.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood clients needs.
Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or similar.
Demonstrated ability to work with Mining Customers and/or Mining Dealers
Understanding of mining technology
Commercial/ Sales Experience
English Advanced
Top candidates will also have:
Strong understanding of Mining application and operations
Previous field experience, preferably as a machine or aftermarket sales representative
Project management experience
Experience with financial and accounting principles
Proven ability to work across the enterprise to achieve results
Proven leadership in cross-functional or field-based roles.
Additional Information:
This position will require up to 50% travel both domestically and internationally.
The position requires full-time presence, five days a week.
