Position Summary
Oversee Core System Funds and its connections ensuring their reliability, performance, and alignment with business goals. The role includes managing application lifecycles, implementing upgrades, troubleshooting issues, and preventing business disruptions in production environments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Finance operations continuity, SOX compliance, application design, ITSM processes, and project management, with the ability to understand critical business processes and ensure seamless system operations to support business continuity.
Main Responsibilities
Business Continuity and Process Understanding
- Develop a deep understanding of the critical business processes supported by IT systems to ensure seamless business operations and continuity.
- Ensure daily fund closing processes in Chile are completed by 10 AM to avoid financial penalties and maintain compliance with regulatory deadlines.
- Manage brokerage indices and accounting closing schedules, including monthly, quarterly, and annual milestones, ensuring strict adherence to timelines.
Operational Management
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and performance of software applications across all business environments, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Identify opportunities for application upgrades, system enhancements, and software improvements to drive operational efficiency.
- Plan, manage, and supervise system upgrades or the installation of new applications, working with software vendors to meet predefined SLAs and budgets.
- Manage incidents in the production environment through ITSM tools and conduct root cause analyses using problem management techniques, reducing recurring issues with long-term solutions.
- Ensure effective change management practices, guaranteeing that production environments adhere to established rules and processes for projects and service providers.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to fully understand their operational needs and ensure applications are tailored to support business goals effectively.
- Serve as a key liaison, communicating system changes and updates while promoting transparency in decision-making processes.
Work closely with IT teams, including System Administrators, Software Developers, and Database Administrators, ensuring smooth application integration and operational alignment
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Regularly evaluate and improve application performance, identifying opportunities to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within IT teams, encouraging the use of emerging technologies to address evolving business needs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, application advancements, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices to incorporate sustainability into IT decisions.
C
ompliance and Risk Management
: Ensure applications meet SOX requirements, standards, and policies while managing risks and aligning disaster recovery plans.
Monitoring and Analytics:
Use tools to monitor performance, security, and compliance, providing actionable insights through real-time reports.
Budget and Vendor Management:
Manage budgets, contracts, and vendors, ensuring timely updates and adherence to agreements.
Job Requirements
Experience and Qualifications
- [8+] years managing Proven experience as Application Manager or similar role, preferably dealing with Finance industry knowledge
- Familiarity with software development life cycle and Agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of ITIL framework and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to lead and manage a team, fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Knowledge of enterprise application integration software.
- Understanding of software development and web technologies.
- Solid knowledge of SOX controls, compliance risks, and IT audits.
