Mining and Metals:

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. Job Summary:

In this role, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop designs for Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, and foundation. You will assists in the 3D modeling of piping and equipment layout, under the supervision of experienced PD&P designers and the generation 2D drawings with the guidance from an experienced Designer. You will be required to prepare bulk material quantity takeoffs for materials applicable to the PD&P discipline, compile, maintain, job drawing files, records, and drawing controls, as instructed.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the development of designs for PD&P engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed.
• Assisting in constructing detailed scale models.
• Ensuring compliance with approved PD&P design standards in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design.
• Coordinating the reviews for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline.
• Assisting in the development of work plans, budgets, and schedules for basic PD&P designer tasks based on input and direction from supervisor in designated discipline.
• Generating 2D drawings or 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models with minimal guidance from others.
• Ensuring PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
• Performing minor computations such as material quantity estimate, dimensional checks, as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

University Hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Develop or modify 3D models based on rough sketches, marked-up copies and/or detailed verbal instructions.
• Preparation of drawings/documents for General Arrangements and piping isometrics drawings.
• Sound knowledge of design and 3D modeling techniques Preferably SP3D.
• Experience using 3D/layout modeling tools.
• Experience using 3D/2D drafting tools.
• Intermediate English (desirable).
