About Instalimb
Instalimb Inc. is a Japan-founded med-tech company pioneering 3D printing and AI in prosthetics and orthotics. Since 2018, our mission has been to deliver high-quality prosthetic and orthotic (P&O) care faster, more affordably, and more comfortably to everyone who needs it.
In Chile, we are launching a technology-transfer initiative with international organizations and Chilen partner institutions to expand access to modern, digitally fabricated prosthetic services for people affected by diabetes, trauma, congenital conditions, and conflict-related injuries. Beyond manufacturing, we focus on technology transfer, education, and sustainable local capacity building.
This is a project-based, full-time position with an initial duration of one (1) year. Renewal may be considered based on project continuation and performance.
2. Position Overview
Based in Chile, the Prosthetist & Orthotist (P&O) will be a cornerstone of our digital fabrication project. The primary mission is to train and mentor local partner facilities, provide technical and clinical oversight, ensure quality control, and support implementation of Instalimb's digital P&O workflow.
The role includes close coordination with international organizations, federal/state health institutions, national orthopaedic/rehabilitation hospitals, universities, Private clinics, and NGOs. In early phases, you will help localize product and process specifications to Chilean patient needs (including elements of R&D).
Short international travel (e.g., for training/exchanges in India) may be required.
3. Key Responsibilities
A. Training & Technical Support for Partner Sites
- Deliver structured training on digital P&O workflows (3D scanning → CAD design → 3D printing → assembly → fitting → follow-up).

- Provide ongoing troubleshooting and mentorship (in person and remote).
B. Project Execution & Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with international organizations, Chilen ministries/agencies, hospitals, universities, and NGOs.

- Prepare concise progress reports and implementation updates.
C. Clinical Engagement & Technical Supervision
- Supervise/oversee patient evaluation, fitting, and follow-up at partner sites.
- Guide safe clinical practice and ensure quality/traceability in the digital workflow.
- Gather and analyze patient-reported outcomes and feedback.
D. Product & Process Localization
- Propose adjustments to device specifications based on local anthropometrics, climate, activity levels, and component availability.
- Conduct local materials/process improvement studies with the global R&D team.
- Prototype and evaluate localized configurations with clear documentation.
E. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed training logs, clinical supervision notes, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
- Consolidate manufacturing documentation from partner sites.
- Prepare briefings/reports in English for internal/external stakeholders.
F. Other Duties
- Provide flexible support to ensure smooth project delivery and success, including logistics, trip arrangement, research activities, etc.
- Provide basic interpretation and translation support when needed
