About the role
Requirements:
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
- Complies with BHP Safety policies and procedures.
- Aligns with BHP Charter, Code of Conduct, Our Requirements and relevant statutory obligations.
- Ensure an effective and high-level quality of monthly payroll process validation.
- Deep understanding on Business commitments and legal requirements to ensure the payroll process is fully aligned.
- Work closely with a global payroll team for ongoing payroll issues by gathering insights and providing local context.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) when required, advise, and provide recommendations on action plan to appropriately and adequately address the issues.
- Be accountable for governance of payroll and work with GBS HR Payroll team to coach them and support in any deviation.
- Implement and maintain country payroll controls activities (e.g. maintenance of control standards, collective agreements and others).
- Manage updates to payroll due to legislative changes, payroll thresholds and rates.
- Maintain close understanding of business changes (related to HR) and impacts on the line.
- Support the deployment of relevant regional payroll and process improvement projects and initiatives.
- Manage relationships and contracts with external payroll vendors to ensure high quality service delivery.
- Provide SME (subject matter expertise) advice on country specific payroll reporting requirements
About You
Experience & Qualifications:
- A University degree in Accounting (Contador Auditor), HR Business Administration Engineering (Ingeniería en Administración en HR), Commercial Engineer (Ingeniero Comercial).
- A specialisation with Chilean Labour payroll matters is a plus.
- 5 years of relevant experience in payroll process, with technical expertise in payroll taxation, social contributions, control of benefits and reliquidation.
- Advanced Excel.
- Experience in SAP HCM System (Personnel Administration, Time Management, and Payroll).
- Demonstrated knowledge in Chilean Labor Legislation.
- English spoken and written.
