An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced pharmacy technicians registered with the GPhC with proven post qualification experience to join our integrated pharmacy team, working across Fife as part of the Acute Services clinical pharmacy team.
There are two posts advertised. One post will be based within the surgical clinical pharmacy team, and the other within the medical clinical pharmacy team.
As a Senior Clinical Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering a safe and effective pharmacy service across Acute hospital settings. Working closely with both pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure smooth transitions of care and support patient flow.
Your responsibilities include taking comprehensive medication histories upon admission, managing medicines throughout the inpatient stay, and supporting discharge prescriptions to maintain accuracy and continuity of care. You will also provide counselling to patients to promote understanding and adherence to their medication regimens.
You must be able to work independently or as part of the pharmacy team and wider multidisciplinary team. You will be an excellent communicator who has the ability to build good relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals. You should have experience of working in a clinical environment and managing staff.
Your primary site will be Victoria Hospital, but the role will require the ability to travel across Fife to cover other hospitals out with your base locations. You will also have sessions to enable you to maintain your checking qualification.
