• Type of Contract: Semi-annual Independent Contractor Agreement (Prestación de servicios a honorarios semestral)

Deliver a high-quality educational-athletics seasonal program to Elementary School, Middle School or High School athletes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Education or Physical Education preferred.
• A minimum of 1-3 years of coaching experience.
• Certified in first aid and CPR preferred.
• High level of English and Spanish proficiency required.

• Understanding of sport and the underlying fundamentals and strategy.
• Strong communications skills (in English and Spanish), written and verbal.
• Proficiency with digital communication platforms and experience in the use of spreadsheets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct training sessions as per the scheduled program.
• Prepare teams for games and tournaments.
• Set clear team goals, share them, and reflect upon them throughout the season with the team and supervisor.
• Attend every practice, game, and team event scheduled by the athletics office, ensuring proper supervision at all times.
• Serve as a mentor, role-model, and educator as part of the role of athletics coach.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with team members, parents, and administration.
• Attend the coaches' training retreat and any other required meetings throughout the season.
• Select athletes for games/tournaments following Nido's selection criteria and protocols.
• Complete first aid training and additional health and safety training when required.
• Maintain safety standards at all times and report any accidents or incidents to the Athletics Director.
• Complete the Nido Child Safeguarding training.
• Follow the guidelines of the school's child protective behavior policies and protocols, including reporting any potential health and/or safety hazards.
• Familiarize yourself and adhere at all times to the Nido Athletics Coaches Handbook and Emergency Procedure Protocols.
• Work directly with the Athletics Office on scheduling matters.
• Communicate with parents and team bi-weekly, using the Schoolsbuddy email platform.
• Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by the athletic director or school administration.
• Support the School and its administrators in any related activities.
