Position Overview

We are looking for a
Senior Civil Design Engineer
to lead and develop the civil engineering aspects of renewable generation projects, substations, and transmission lines. The role involves active participation in conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering phases.

This is a high-level technical position, with responsibility for design quality, regulatory compliance, and technical support to internal teams. It also includes mentoring and supervising less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and review steel and reinforced concrete structures
  • Design foundations, buildings, and civil works
  • Develop engineering for roads, drainage, and earthworks
  • Perform site grading and drainage calculations
  • Coordinate civil and electrical engineering integration
  • Review internal and vendor civil/structural drawings
  • Lead technical reviews of work done by junior engineers
  • Prepare and review technical RFPs, RFQs, and BoQs
  • Evaluate subcontractor and vendor technical documentation
  • Provide technical support to the construction team
  • Respond to RFIs, redlines, and change orders
  • Participate in technical site visits
  • Apply local and international design codes
  • Contribute to technical proposals for new projects
  • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards

Requirements

Education:
Civil Engineering

Experience:
Minimum 7 years in energy, substations, transmission, or infrastructure projects

Technical Knowledge:

  • National seismic regulations
  • International structural design codes
  • Civil and structural design
  • Discipline-specific standards
  • Multidisciplinary coordination

Software Proficiency:

  • AutoCAD
  • SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, or STAAD Pro
  • Advanced MS Office
  • Desirable:
    Hydraulic software (HEC-RAS / HCanales)
  • Desirable:
    PLS / Tower

Languages:
Intermediate to advanced English
