About the Position
This Senior Underwriter A&H role is an exciting opportunity to join our team in Chile and contribute to the growth and success of our organization. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in developing and executing our underwriting strategy, while also driving the expansion of our A&H portfolio.
Key Accountabilities
- Underwrite and service accounts, as well as assist with A&H underwriting and departmental workflow systems, processes, and related issues.
- Expand the A&H portfolio in line with controls, underwriting strategy, and guidelines, while maintaining a focus on bottom-line underwriting profit and delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients, as well as underwrite and price A&H risks, including all forms of distribution.
- Determine the acceptability of risks for underwriting, bind various coverages subject to authority level, and answer inquiries from producers.
- Prepare quotations and formal proposals on new and renewal business, ensuring timely and accurate completion of documentation according to standards.
- Assist the Head of A&H in addressing and resolving overdues, workflow, and various clerical issues as necessary.
- Foster effective communication with management on all issues both within and outside the Unit as needed, interacting and coordinating activities with other departments.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or a related field.
- 2-4 years of professional work experience.
- Advanced English skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building, employee coaching, and development skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools.
