Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Bechtel Corporation. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for mechanical aspects of projects. You will lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes, ensuring that technical issues are resolved and the unique requirements of each project are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical systems and material handling equipment for mining industry projects, including crushers, conveyors, pumps, and stockpiles.
  • Perform calculations and analysis to provide technical design recommendations.
  • Prepare material requisitions, specifications, data sheets, and other procurement-related documents.
  • Assist and lead in vendor evaluation and technical bid evaluations.
  • Coordinate with mechanical designers to produce designs and drawings to project standards.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and areas of the company to ensure mechanical engineering efforts are aligned with project requirements.
  • Prepare conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals as needed.
  • Provide technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and interact with project functions, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience in the mining industry.
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment and processes in the mining industry.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for individual and team tasks.
