About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Adjunct Faculty Instructor to join our team at Ivy Tech Community College. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students in the field of Information Technology Support.

Job Summary:

The Adjunct Faculty Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students, creating a learning environment that fosters student success, and assessing student progress. The ideal candidate will have strong teaching skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to student-centered education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives
  • Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods
  • Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials
  • Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements
  • Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning
  • Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner

Schedule and Compensation:

The Adjunct Faculty Instructor will work on a semester-by-semester basis, with classes scheduled during the day or evening based on class enrollment. The compensation for this role is $45.50 per contact hour, with pay varying for classes with fewer than 5 students.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

  1. Possess an earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or a related field
  2. Possess an earned related or out-of-field master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with documented coursework in information technology or a related field
  3. Possess an earned related or out-of-field bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with documentation in two or more of the following: professional certification, two years of in-field professional employment, evidence of teaching excellence, research and publication in the field, or relevant additional coursework

Preferred Qualifications:

A valid, non-expired CompTIA A+ certification or CompTIA Network+ certification is preferred for instructors teaching ITSP 135, while a valid, non-expired CompTIA Mobility+ certification, CWNP's Certified Wireless Network Administration certification, CWNP's Certified Wireless Network Professional certification, or current Cisco Academy Instructor with wireless course qualifications is preferred for instructors teaching ITSP 215.
