Job Summary:

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty Instructor to teach Computer Science courses on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, creating a positive learning environment, and engaging with students in a professional and cooperative manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
  • Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.

Requirements:

A qualified faculty member in Computer Science must meet the requirements of one of the two pathways below:

1. Possesses an earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in computer science, engineering, mathematical sciences, information sciences, or a computer-related degree as appropriate to the course and/or specialty being taught.

2. Possesses a related or out-of-field master's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 graduate semester hours or equivalent of courses in a computer, mathematical sciences, or engineering-related field as appropriate to the course and/or specialty being taught.

Position requires sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the College students and employees.

Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction and conduct all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.

Fully supports the College's mission and strategic plan initiatives.
