This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading insurance agency. Shepherd Insurance LLC, a privately-owned organization, has been delivering risk management solutions since 1977.

We are among the largest independent agencies in the country, offering a wide variety of insurance and financial products. This position at MacLennan & Bain Insurance, a Shepherd Insurance Partner, as a Senior Commercial Lines Insurance Manager within the Shepherd family, will provide you with a unique chance to utilize your skills and expertise in commercial lines insurance.

In this role, you will assist experienced insurance advisors in handling new and renewal commercial lines business, ensuring seamless customer service and maintaining strong relationships with clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing excellent service to clients, responding promptly to their needs and concerns.
  • Collaborating with advisors to obtain policy information, maintaining accurate records and expirations logs.
  • Assisting in marketing new and renewal business opportunities, evaluating premiums and preparing proposals for clients.
  • Accompanying insurance advisors to client meetings, providing support and answering questions.
  • Verifying accuracy of new and renewal policies, ensuring rating, coverage, and billing information is correct.
  • Responding to client inquiries regarding policy coverage, claims, or administrative needs, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Maintaining a suspense system to track outstanding orders, correspondence, and follow-up actions.
  • Supporting cross-selling and account rounding efforts, working collaboratively with other departments and advisors.

To succeed in this position, you should possess:

  • At least two years' experience in a similar role, preferably in commercial lines insurance.
  • Required state licensing certification.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; a college degree is preferred but not necessary.
  • A strong understanding of commercial lines insurance coverages, forms, procedures, and policy rating systems.
  • Familiarity with various computer software applications, including Microsoft Office products and agency management systems.

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
