Position Overview:
The Mechanical Technician for Centrifugal Pumps plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of centrifugal pumps and associated equipment. This position involves the systematic disassembly, thorough cleaning, and meticulous inspection of pumps, ensuring they meet operational standards. The technician will utilize precision measurement tools to assess the dimensions of various components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with industry quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to guidelines outlined in pre-job briefings and complete all necessary documentation, including checklists and procedures. Clean and prepare components for reuse, accurately documenting their condition. Employ hand torches and liquid nitrogen appropriately during disassembly. Disassemble equipment to address defective materials or worn components, performing necessary repairs. Conduct precise inspections of components and assemblies, thoroughly recording inspection results. Remove contaminants such as dirt, oil, and grease from pump parts prior to reassembly. Apply primers and finish coatings to pump exteriors using spray equipment as required. Operate a variety of precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate assessments. Document conditions and processes through photography. Engage in the implementation of operational systems and quality processes, ensuring adherence to best practices. Report quality issues, ensuring non-conformance is documented and corrective actions are executed. Maintain clear and professional communication with production planners and clients regarding component conditions. Collaborate with sales, operations, engineers, and clients as necessary. Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:
A background in Mechanical or Industrial Technology with 7 to 8 years of relevant experience. Proven experience in pump repair and maintenance. Familiarity with manufacturing environments. Experience working with pumps or heavy machinery. Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints. Proficiency in metrology and the use of measuring instruments. Valid Class D driver's license. A collaborative attitude that fosters teamwork, decision-making, and continuous improvement. Possession of personal power tools, micrometers, and a rolling toolbox is essential. Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.Preferred Qualifications:
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
