Position Overview

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to become a vital member of our Trust and Compliance team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid grasp of accounting principles along with a keen attention to detail. Success in this role requires a self-driven individual who is dedicated to resolving issues effectively and eager to contribute to an organization focused on ongoing growth and enhancement. This position demands a standard of integrity and professionalism while engaging with a diverse team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct bank reconciliations
  • Manage property management trust account reconciliations
  • Support periodic compliance assessments of real estate property management trust accounts
  • Ensure adherence to trust regulations in accordance with policies for operating and trust-restricted bank accounts
  • Review and assist in the preparation of trust accounting records in line with applicable regulations
  • Provide support during audits

Required Skills

  • Previous experience in travel or related industries is preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is mandatory.
  • Degree in Accounting or 0-2 years of experience in auditing or corporate accounting
  • Basic proficiency in Excel and Google G-Suite
  • Familiarity with accounting software and account reconciliations (experience with Netsuite and/or Alteryx is advantageous)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Innovative mindset towards process improvements
  • Commitment to internal controls
  • Ability to adapt and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
