We are seeking an exceptional candidate to lead our efforts in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Job Description:
This is a senior leadership position responsible for developing and implementing FAO's strategic priorities for food security, agriculture, and rural development in the region. The successful candidate will work closely with regional Member Countries, international partners, and other stakeholders to promote collaborative action and build capacity to address key challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement regional priority activities aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Leverage partnerships and collaborations to enhance FAO's impact in the region
- Mobilize resources and support from international partners to advance regional priorities
- Lead regional policy dialogue on food security, agriculture, and rural development
- Foster collaboration among decentralized offices and regional Members to prioritize FAO's work in the region
- Represent FAO at regional level, advocating for its policy positions and communicating its messages
Requirements:
- Advanced university degree in a field related to the work of the Organization
- Extensive leadership and managerial experience, with a strong track record of results-driven management
- Familiarity with results-based management approaches and expertise in leading complex projects
- Twenty years of relevant experience in food security, agriculture, and rural development, with a focus on international cooperation and partnerships
- Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages, including English and Spanish
Leadership Competencies:
- Results focus, leading and empowering others, communication, partnering and advocating, knowledge sharing, and strategic thinking
