Your Role at Baxter
Medical Science Liaisons are healthcare professionals who engage with the scientific and clinical community, key opinion leaders (KOLs), researchers, and nursing educators. They serve as a vital link with clinical investigators seeking support for investigator-initiated research (IIR) and collaborate with scientific authorities to identify opportunities and sites for future Baxter-sponsored research. Medical Science Liaisons cultivate professional relationships with Surgeon KOLs in key therapeutic areas of the Advanced Surgery sector. They participate in training sessions, deliver clinical/scientific presentations, and attend medical congresses and company-sponsored scientific symposia. This team will work closely with internal Medical Affairs teams in their therapeutic area of expertise to provide scientific information relevant to the launch of new products, support key product strategies, and contribute to publications.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Drive medical strategy in the Latin America North region for Advanced Surgery.
- Serve as the primary scientific authority in the Surgical therapy area, guiding both internal and external customers in Latin America North countries.
- Stay well-informed on therapeutic areas, keeping up to date on major ongoing and completed studies, and driven product information/clinical data.
- Assist with special projects in the therapeutic area, including medical affairs, live tissue surgical labs, CMEs, advisory boards, KOL interactions, nurse training, scientific reviews, and investigator meetings.
- Review materials to ensure compliance with standards of accuracy and integrity.
- Develop and implement projects and research ethically in alignment with strategies, assisting in the coordination of clinical trials with local and global teams.
- Collaborate with market access and commercial teams to provide support.
- Share medical information with KOLs regarding scientific and clinical guidelines, differentiating product attributes, and outcomes studies.
- Represent Baxter Medical Affairs at medical congresses and conventions, overseeing medical education booths.
What You'll Bring
- Medical Doctor (Nephrologist).
- Proficient in both English and Spanish.
- Hands-on experience in the field.
- Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
