Location

We are hybrid/remote-friendly, with a preferred location in Latin America, preferably working in hours that align to ET (Eastern Timezone) or PT (Pacific Timezone). Candidates located in Santiago, Chile can work out of our Santiago office as remote/hybrid employees, while those outside of Santiago will be fully remote.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative back-end-focused Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology, eager to learn, and possess a strong commitment to creating high-quality applications. This role requires collaboration with a diverse team to meet business requirements, mentor junior developers, and maintain client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop high-quality back-end applications, adhering to industry best practices.
  2. Establish and maintain efficient, well-organized project structures, adhering to DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) principles.
  3. Generate and update documentation, implementing and adhering to optimal development workflow practices.
  4. Collaborate with engineers to design robust solutions that meet business requirements.
  5. Evaluate and choose third-party services and products for each project.
  6. Work in synergy with team members to meet project deadlines.
  7. Provide mentorship to junior developers, fostering a learning environment.
  8. Contribute innovative ideas to ensure we deliver the best solutions for our clients.
  9. Stay updated with technological advancements and continually enhance your skill set.
  10. Manage client relationships effectively, presenting and explaining solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
  1. Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming with a strong focus on languages like JavaScript and TypeScript.
  2. Experience with Node.js development: our usual stack is based on Express.js, MongoDB/Mongoose or TypeORM/PostgreSQL.
  3. Experience with third-party service integrations using REST.
  4. Familiarity with unit testing frameworks.
  5. Experience with both relational and non-relational database engines.
  6. Excellent communication skills.
  7. Ability to adapt to a flexible work environment and collaborate with teams of various sizes.
  8. Passion for technology and digital products.
  9. Highly collaborative and a team player.
  10. Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to Haves
  1. Experience working with other strongly typed languages like C# and Java.
  2. Experience working with JavaScript Backend Frameworks such as Fastify and Nest.
  3. Experience working with e-commerce solution providers and loyalty solution providers.
  4. Experience architecting solutions on cloud platforms.
  5. Experience with docker and containerized workloads.
  6. Understanding of modern JavaScript frontend frameworks.
