Reporting directly to the QBME (Quebrada Blanca Mill Expansion) Project Director and functionally to the Project Development Group (PDG) in Vancouver, Canada, the **Construction Manager - Concentrator Area **will be responsible for creating value and mitigating risks associated with construction work and activities in the Project concentrate plant area. He or she shall guarantee that providers execute work in accordance with the company’s stipulated contracts, procedures and standards, ensuring project objective scope in keeping with the construction plan and strategy. This is to be done in collaboration with the revision and supervision of quality management plans, health and safety, estimates, budgets, programs, purchasing plans, hiring and potential design and constructability revisions. The person filling this position shall be responsible for the safety and integrity of people, assets, facilities and equipment associated with the project concentrate plant area. **The position will initially be based in Santiago and will subsequently move to the site in accordance with project progress.**
The QBME project is designed to increase grinding capacity at Quebrada Blanca, incorporating a third concentrate plant process line at the operation. This will entail increasing concentrate throughput by approximately 50%, with the addition of an identical semiautogenous grinding line and additional storage and desalination capacity.
The project does not modify capacities and surface area for the main mining facilities, including the pit, waste dumps and the tailings deposit. It will be located within approved limits for operation, adding minimum infrastructure to existing infrastrucutre.
**Responsibilities**:
- Creating a safe, respectful and environmentally responsible workplace, promoting inclusion and diversity.
- Leading the construction management owner team in the concentrate plant area, implementing the workforce needed to meet program milestones and supervise plan compliance.
- Providing support for the work mobilization plan and the implementation of facilities, equipment, services and personnel.
- Evaluating strategies for program and cost optimization, exploring opportunities for modularization, premanufacturing, prior testing and automation.
- Ensuring that construction and service contracting companies compiy with contractual aspects, monitoring contract performance by supervising the construction management plan and quality management plan, reporting and correcting deviations in a timely manner.
- Executing construction work in the concentrate plant area, including systems for performance supervision, recommending corrective actions and capturing/communicating lessons learned.
- Managing stakeholder relations at existing operatins during implementation on site, construction,commissioning, start-up and demobilization, including nearby communities.
- Managing relations between Project teams and Teck Operations, as well as with and among service providers working in the construction area. Facilitating and coordinating work between contractors, operating personnel and other persons contributing to the project. Providing direction, decision making and leadership for the construction team.
- Collaborating during the planning phase, facilitating early alignment and final approval.
- Supervising productivity and associated costs for service providers at the project, ensuring maximum productivity and profitability.
- Overseeing work quality in accordance with the quality management plan and standards specified in design documentation.
**Requirements**:

- A degree in Engineering or similar education.
- Proven experience in similar positions, managing the construction pase of at least five large scale brownfield/greenfield projects in the large scale mining industry or other production industries, ideally from an owner role. Experience with projects related to concentrate plants will be a valuable asset.

- Fluent English and Spanish.
