**What We're Looking For**
The Accounts Receivable Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting the Accounts Receivable Supervisor in managing the company's receivables and collections process. This position involves handling day-to-day tasks related to invoicing, payment processing, and customer communications. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will report directly to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and collaborate closely with other team members to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
**What You'll Do**
- Process and reconcile customer invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payment and follow up on overdue invoices.
- Prepare and distribute statements, reminders, and collection letters to customers.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing issues, payment terms, and account balances.
- Assist in the preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly accounts receivable reports.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and other departments to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
- Update customer records and account information in the accounting system.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation for audits and financial reviews.
- Support the Accounts Receivable Supervisor in ad hoc projects and initiatives to improve collections processes.
**The Skills You'll Need**
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Previous experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or collections, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Experience with accounts receivable software or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable principles, processes, and best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives and automation tools is a plus.
