**Responsibilities**:
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background and the internship period. Duties may include:

- Produce analytical, quantitative and qualitative inputs required for the elaboration of documents and reports on climate change issues;
- Collect climate change related qualitative and quantitative data;
- Estimate econometric models; -Survey literature on climate change impacts and policies;
- Assistance in drafting and preparing official documents;
- Compiling statistics. Additionally, the Intern will also perform the following duties:

- Attending and summarizing conferences and meeting;
- Document, legal and internet research; -Assistance during conferences;
- Speech-writing.

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
(a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,

(b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- For this internship, studies in the following specific areas are desirable:

- Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information System) is desirable.

Work Experience

For this internship, experience the following specific areas is desirable:

- Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information System).

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in Spanish is required. Knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language would be an asset.

NOTE: “Fluency” equals a rating of ''fluent'' in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and ¨knowledge of¨ equals a rating of ''confident'' in two of the four areas.
