Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively searching for a Senior Marine Structural Engineer in our Santiago, Chile office to perform project management and lead the design of waterfront structures such as piers, bulkheads, breakwaters, shoreline protection systems, small boat harbors, floating platforms and ferry landings. This position will also work with teams across the company on a variety of structural projects related to marine and transportation infrastructure engineering.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Establish standards, design approach and manage the technical analysis of marine structures and foundations using cast-in-place/prestressed concrete, steel, and timber.
- Provide structural design, perform peer review, and oversee the design of other engineers
- Assist on Proposals and Business Development opportunities with new and existing clients
- Monitor and report on project scope and budget
- Actively participate in the training and development of junior staff
- Provide quality reviews of drawings and calculations
- Interact directly with clients

This is a management and design role. This individual will be responsible for leading a team as well as completing design work.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural engineering; required
- Master’s degree is preferred
- 15+ years of experience in marine / waterfront structural engineering design, project Management, Business Development, and staff training and development; required
- Knowledge of regional / local client pool and have relationships that will help with business development; required
- Experience as a Sr. Project / Program Manager providing structural design, perform peer review, and oversee the project design
- Bi-lingual / multi-lingual desired
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

The work takes place mostly in an office environment. Must be able to work flexible hours (across multiple time zones) and to travel as and when required.
