Part of the Operations Readiness team and reporting to the department manager the position is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation that effectively communicates complex information to users, clients, and stakeholders. This role involves collaborating closely with the project manager, engineers, SMEs, Technicians, and other stakeholders to produce the required documents, procedures and manuals for various systems, processes, and equipment. This role requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Document Creation:

- Develop technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, troubleshooting guides, plans, procedures (SOP/SJP), protocols and reports for various systems and processes in accordance with project requirements and industry standards, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, understand complex processes, and translate technical specifications into comprehensive documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand system functionality, performance requirements, and technical documentation.
- Review and Update:

- Review draft documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders, including engineers, project managers, and clients, to refine technical documents as needed.
- Update technical documents to reflect any design changes, equipment substitutions, or project modifications.
- Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect product updates, enhancements, and changes in functionality.
- Gather feedback from users, support teams, and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and update documentation accordingly.
- Quality Assurance:

- Ensure that technical documents adhere to quality standards, industry best practices, and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct thorough reviews of procedures and protocols to identify potential risks or deficiencies and propose corrective actions.
- Administer and maintain the department’s document control system.
- Training and Support:

- Provide training and support to internal teams and external users on how to effectively use and navigate technical documentation.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Excellent Writing Skills: Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
- Technical Aptitude: Solid understanding of technical concepts and the ability to quickly grasp new technologies, products, and systems, and to interpret complex diagrams and blueprints.
- Collaborative Approach: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation with accuracy and consistency.
- Organization and Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

- Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction processes, and commissioning practices.
- Proven experience as a technical writer in an engineering environment, preferably in a highly regulated industry (e.g., mining, construction).
- Availability to travel and work on site (5x2 and 4x3 shifts).
