**Job Description**:
Checkr is currently looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Monetization team. This team focuses on building systems that enable Checkr to generate revenue from the products and services delivered to our customers. You will work on building and improving the platform to support the automated monetization process for all Checkr products.

As we process millions of records every year, the engineering challenges our team faces - compliance, data quality, speed, and reliability - are challenges we face at a large scale. We also face profound product challenges in a highly fragmented and decentralized data ecosystem, which means that every engineering choice we make is also an opportunity to reduce bias in the hiring process.

You will work on a collection of small services built in Ruby and Javascript, with SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as message queues for asynchronous tasks. Checkr was founded by engineers for engineers; we want to create the best environment for developers to build, learn, and love their work.

We are looking for team members who are highly collaborative (we prefer pair programming), deeply care about our company's mission (improving equity in the criminal justice system), and are willing to work with a diverse team (42% of engineers across the background check program identify as women).

**Responsibilities**:

- Ownership of end-to-end product development, from ideation, design, implementation, to release.
- Collaborating with product, design, and other stakeholders in designing new features.
- Collaborating with other engineers on architecture and implementation of new features.
- Developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving our products.
- Delivering high-performance, reliable, scalable, and secure code.
- Managing priorities, timelines, and outcomes of each project.
- Demonstrating expertise in at least one or two areas where you can drive technology (microservices, front-end, API design, TDD, infrastructure, open-source tools).
- Delivering high-performance, reliable, scalable, and secure code.

**What you bring**:

- 5+ years of software development experience working with languages like Ruby, Python, or GoLang, and experience with front-end JavaScript libraries like React.
- Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as relational databases, data structures and algorithms, Object Relational Mapping, etc.
- Experience writing high-performing, reliable, scalable, and secure code, and experience with microservices, queuing architectures, APIs, etc.
- Experience leading the adoption of best practices for the entire team to improve code quality and speed.
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility, and experience in mentoring junior engineers.
- Great collaboration, communication, innovation, and project management skills.
- Advanced English communication skills.

**Bonus points**:

- Experience in building high-performance, low-latency systems.
- Experience in conducting load testing and writing effective unit and integration tests.
