**WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER**:
The Conservation Analyst will perform operational and administrative tasks including travel and event logistics, agenda & contract management, organization of high-level events, contact management, reporting as well as research and analysis documents.
She/he will manage internal commitments and support the meetings. These tasks require excellent proactive organizational and tracking skills to ensure the agenda, facilitation and agreements are produced for each meeting based on Highly Effective Teams and other management tools. High level events will also require excellent capacities to coordinate, trouble-shoot and engage with a broad range of teams within and outside of TNC.
S/he may take part in the implementation of specific projects or special assignments in agreement with the Conservation Director. S/he will be tasked to develop summary documents on climate change, environmental and/or sustainability policies and current events related which s/he will need to research, synthesize and present for high level communications and decision making.
The Conservation Analyst support in design and implementation of conservation projects. The Conservation Analyst supports Directive team, Conservation Director, Strategic Director and BU Director.
**WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU**:
The Conservation Analyst performs and participates in conservation projects and activities and reports to Conservation Director.
1 year contract, renewable option.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Perform duties under general supervision and established guidelines.
- Perform a range of operational/administrative tasks such as logistics, travel and field arrangements, workshops, and contract management
- Support Direction with surveys and action plan tracking the execution and giving feedback of the following up of the actions.
- Provides support for budget and financial reports for Conservation Director. Financial responsibility may also include working within a budget to complete projects, negotiating and contracting with vendors, assisting with budget development and fundraising targets.
- Provides support during strategic planning processes.
- Sets up and follows through with meeting agreements.
- Supports and meets deadlines for short
- and long-term projects and procedures.
- Networks with diverse groups, including landowners, conservation partners, government officials, and the general public to recruit support for the Conservancy and publicize Conservancy programs/preserves.
- Supports HUB platform updates in coordination with Portfolio Manager and Conservation Director.
- Conservation equipment and warehouse inventory tracking
- May work under mínimal and/or distant supervision; may make some independent decisions based on analysis, experience and context.
- May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances.
- Support on time tracking of Directive team
- Maintain confidentiality of all matters related to the work
- Ensures compliance with TNC internal policies, procedures, and external requirements
**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**:
- Natural resources engineer or similar with 1 - 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in field work.
- Ability to complete tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
- Ability to write of reports and design presentations.
- Communicating clearly via written, spoken and graphical means in English.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must live in Santiago, Chile
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
- Ability to recognize plant and animal species to complete preserve management activities.
- Knowledge/understanding of current trends and practices in conservation, land management and natural resource preservation/conservation or similar field
- Experience working with professionals from diverse fields and backgrounds.
- Maximum 2 years of experience.
