Summary Job profile

Legal Counsel: General Business includesadvice/counsel across multiple areas of business law related to anorganization’s legal rights and obligations

Legalfunctions:

- Providing legal advice/counsel in business-relatedareas of expertise (e.g., corporate law, real estate, tax, businesslitigation, transactions/antitrust, compliance, intellectual property,employment/labor, corporate governance, ethics, etc.);
-Researching, analyzing, and interpreting proposed and existing laws,statutes, and regulations;
- Identifying, evaluating, andaddressing issues of legal risk;
- Structuring, drafting,negotiating and/or approving legal contracts, letters of agreement,policies and other documents related to a variety of trade,commercial, financial, and operational matters; and
- As necessary,representing/advocating for an organization in litigation,arbitration, mediation or other disputes with courts, governmentagencies, or other legal authorities; and
- Liaising with andmanaging external legal counsel on complex legalissues.

Compliance responsibilities:
Managing and performingwork related to developing and administering organization-specificethical standards applicable to all employees including:

-Documenting policies and procedures related to the ethical standardsestablished by the business (e.g., policies & procedures related toconflicts-of-interest, confidentiality/privacy, fraud, appropriate useof company assets, interpersonal conduct in the workplace, etc.);
-Develop and conduct employee ethics training and ensure employeeattendance/completion of all required courses.
- Monitor compliancewith ethics programs & procedures, investigate complaints, and verifythat deficiencies are corrected.

Minimum requirements:

-Qualified Chilean Lawyer with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Advanced levelwritten and spoken English
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience inlegal areas. Experience in medical device/pharmaceutical industrystrongly preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience managingcompliance in a multinational company.
