Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan. Job Summary In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill. You will prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges. Major Responsibilities Performing routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed. Supporting the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports. Assisting with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines. Preparing cost data for proposals or contracts. Coordinating the development and accuracy of cost reports. Verifying consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency. Preparing specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures. Collecting and classifying cost data. Performing budget allocation and reporting/cost control regime for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines. Preparing cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons. Education And Experience Requirements Requires an engineering degree and 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience in the construction / mining industry. Required Knowledge And Skills Demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for Project Controls activities directly related to Cost and Change Control (i.e., change management, trend program). Demonstrated skill in management, supervisory, and personnel administrative functions. Ability to support project organizational and administrative activities. In-depth level of experience to provide comments and recommendations for Project Controls requirements. Able to review design scope criteria and quantities for completeness and reasonableness, and coordinates with the project to develop additional estimating bases. Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience. Knowledge of current industry and technical developments. Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management/client. Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems. Able to work independently to meet project deadlines. Knowledge of large-scale database management, knowledge of Eco Sys, knowledge of Power BI. Knowledge of WBS structures (desirable).
