Sr. Business Developer – Santiago, Chile / Hybrid ContourGlobal, a KKR company, is a leading Independent Power Producer focused on developing, acquiring, and operating electricity generation and storage assets across Europe, North and South America, with a presence in Africa and Asia. The company currently manages 5.5 GW of installed capacity and is accelerating the decarbonization of its portfolio to become a predominantly renewable IPP. Job Summary As Sr. Business Developer you will join our Business Development team and report to BD Manager South America. You will support the growth of ContourGlobal’s South America region by sourcing, evaluating, and executing greenfield, brownfield, and ready-to-build projects and M&A opportunities in renewable energy. You will build preliminary financial valuations for each opportunity and drive the business development pipeline to commercial targets. Key Responsibilities Drive the origination, development, and acquisition of renewable energy projects (wind, solar, BESS) and M&A opportunities, ensuring projects reach RTB stage on time and within budget. Manage the end‑to‑end development process, including planning, portfolio management, and coordination with cross‑functional teams. Control and report project budgets and capital needs. Build and oversee project economics models, CAPEX/OPEX forecasts, and energy yield assessments to enable sound investment decisions. Align the development pipeline with short‑, medium‑, and long‑term energy commercialization opportunities in collaboration with the Commercial team. Negotiate and manage third‑party service agreements and partnership agreements to secure competitive project delivery. Prepare investment memos, board presentations, and other reports required for the investment decision process. Maintain databases to track project performance, regulatory changes, and market trends. Track market dynamics and maintain relationships with regulators and stakeholders across each market. Qualifications and Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business administration with a strong quantitative focus; master’s degree desirable. Experience: At least 5 years of experience developing renewable energy projects in Chile. Knowledge of environmental impact assessment, interconnection process, legal/land analysis, and technical and financial knowledge is required. Desirable experience in Project Finance and Financial Valuation for acquisitions and project financing. Skills: Experience leading energy projects; excellent communication and negotiation skills; entrepreneurial and analytical thinking; ability to travel occasionally.
