Consultant Urologist

Consultant Urologist – NHS Scotland Join a dedicated team committed to patient‑centred, safe and clinically effective care. This role offers an opportunity for a newly trained consultant or an established consultant looking for a new challenge within a well‑established Urology Unit in the third largest health board in Scotland. Responsibilities Lead the Benign Prostate Hypertrophy (BPH) service and develop new bespoke services for the Lanarkshire population. Redesign the BPH patient pathway from vetting, outpatient review to surgical treatments in alignment with GIRFT and BAUS principles. Provide a comprehensive breadth of Urological Sub‑specialist services, including Endo‑Urology, Upper‑tract Laparoscopy, Pelvic Oncology and General Urology. Utilise robotic pelvic surgery with the Da Vinci system, and manage Thulium and Holmium laser procedures. Collaborate with University Hospital Monklands, Wishaw and Hairmyres for outpatient, diagnostic and inpatient care. Engage in quality improvement, patient safety (including human factors training), medical education, research, development and appraisals. Support the development of additional SPA time for service improvement projects. Requirements Full registration and licence to practice with the GMC. Experience in urology, with interest in sub‑specialist training (Endo‑Urology, Laparoscopy, Pelvic Oncology). Willingness to work full‑time (10 PA) with flexibility for part‑time arrangements. Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and educational activities. Legal eligibility to work in the UK (including UK Border Agency work‑permit checks).
