Overview An exciting opportunity is available for a registered nurse to join the Haematology / Oncology Day Unit VHK. The day unit operates Monday to Friday 08:00–19:00. Shift pattern will be discussed at interview. Responsibilities Participate in the safe delivery and planning of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) and supportive care to individuals with malignant and non-malignant haematology and oncology disorders. Contribute to delivering a high standard of care to patients in Fife, using reflective and integrated practice and applying evidence-based knowledge to achieve optimal care during treatment. Engage in established treatment pathways alongside clinical trials to support an exciting and forward-thinking learning environment. Participate in regular professional development and in-service training for personal and professional growth. Qualifications and experience Post-registration experience within an acute setting. Excellent communication skills. Ability to perform venepuncture and cannulation. Completion of level one blood transfusion training is essential or training can be undertaken after appointment. Genuine desire to work in Haematology and Oncology nursing, covering multiple conditions and specialties. Completion of infusional and bolus SACT training is desirable but not essential; training will be facilitated through the Edinburgh Cancer Centre. Additional information and requirements A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment. To work in the United Kingdom, relevant permission to work is required. This is evidenced through routes including visas and status such as EU settled or pre-settled status. See GOV.UK for details.
