US Accountant

US Accountant (Latin America) Imagine owning a clean, predictable close—every month. Your checklists are sharp, your reconciliations airtight, and your reports tell a story leaders can act on. That’s this role. You’ll support fast‑growing US companies and CPA firms as a Latin America‑based US Accountant, driving both accuracy and clarity. Full‑time independent contractor with exclusivity (no other engagements after hire). Pay Range Compensation: $1,200–$3,000 USD per month (commensurate with experience and skills). Location & Employment Type Location: Latin America (100% Remote). Employment Type: Full‑time Independent Contractor (exclusive commitment). About the Role You see accounting as a system: inputs tidy, flows efficient, outputs decision‑ready. You’ll own the close, stitch together AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations, then ship reporting that blends variance insight with plain‑English commentary. Along the way you’ll standardize checklists, codify playbooks, and turn “oops” into automation. What You’ll Do Budgeting & forecasting: Build budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash‑flow projections; monitor burn and runway for SMB clients. Own financial reporting: Prepare timely balance sheets, P&Ls, and cash‑flow statements, plus management reports with variance analysis and insights. Client collaboration: Join standing calls, translate financials into plain English, and proactively flag risks and opportunities. Manage the books end‑to‑end: AP/AR, month‑end close, journal entries, accruals, and the general ledger. Bank & account reconciliations: Reconcile bank, credit card, merchant, and loan accounts; investigate and clear discrepancies. Process improvement: Standardize checklists, close calendars, and SOPs; suggest tech automations (rules, workflows, integrations). Run payroll accurately: Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings; coordinate approvals; ensure on‑time processing. Data quality & controls: Maintain organized, audit‑ready files and strong documentation across periods and entities. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 3+ years of US accounting/bookkeeping experience (public practice or industry). QuickBooks Online proficiency (required) with clean, documented workflows. Experienced CPA or non‑CPA—both welcome to apply. Comfortable collaborating with US‑based teammates and clients across time zones. Preferred experience: Xero, Bill.com (or similar AP/AR automation), G‑Suite/Excel (pivot tables, lookups), and basic reporting/BI. Strong command of English (written & spoken), client‑facing communication, and service‑oriented mindset. Ownership mentality: organized, deadline‑driven, and able to manage multiple clients without sacrificing accuracy. Time‑zone alignment: Comfortable working US business hours. The Ideal Candidate Has closed books for US entities and can hit the ground running with minimal supervision. Balances precision with practicality—knows when to dive deep and when to move fast. Enjoys creating order (SOPs, templates, checklists) and loves clean ledgers and tidy reconciliations. Is tech‑curious and looks for ways to automate routine work and reduce errors. Builds trust with clients through consistent delivery, transparency, and simple explanations. Compensation & Perks Monthly compensation in USD: $1,200–$3,000 depending on experience and portfolio complexity. Permanent WFH with company‑provided equipment (laptop, monitor, accessories). 15 days PTO annually plus public holidays. Exposure to diverse US industries and modern remote practices. Supportive, documentation‑first culture with clear review standards. Contract Status & Exclusivity This is an independent contractor engagement based in Latin America. Full‑time exclusivity is required. Candidates must not hold other part‑time or freelance engagements once hired. Conflict‑of‑interest checks may apply. How We Work Tooling: QuickBooks Online, Xero, Bill.com, Slack, Zoom, and shared workspaces. Quality: Close checklists, review notes, and documentation are part of every engagement. Security: Follow best practices for data privacy, MFA, and least‑privilege access. Application Process Application & prescreening. Skills & aptitude assessment. Profile and pre‑interview preparation. Client interview. Employment offer and onboarding. #J-18808-Ljbffr
