Brookfield is committed to the development of our people through challenging work assignments and exposure to diverse businesses. **Job Description**: - The Senior Associate will be part of the legal team within Chile’s Renewable Power Investments group and will focus on providing legal, business-oriented advice to fellow investment group members on all aspects of transactions in the region, in addition to supporting existing portfolio companies and their respective legal teams in equity and debt raises, negotiation of complex contracts, executive compensation and material litigation. - Responsibilities: - Managing the legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, or disposals, including coordinating due diligence, and reviewing and advising on deal documentation.- - Reviewing and advising on capital management initiatives and relevant documentation- - Assist in reviewing and advising on relevant regulatory submissions for transactions.- - Management of specific external legal engagements, liaison with external legal advisers as required, review of legal advice issued by external legal advisers and communication of such advice to internal stakeholders.- - Monitoring legal issues associated with existing portfolio companies (e.g., major contracts, litigation, regulatory)- - Form collaborative relationships with relevant personnel from the management team and across the Brookfield Group functions such as Tax, Accounting, Risk, and Compliance.- - Other ad hoc projects and duties as required.- Requirements- Tertiary qualifications in law with a strong academic record (preferably including Honors).- - At least 4 years of post-admission legal experience, including at least 4 years post-admission experience in a finance, equity capital markets, debt capital markets or M&A division of a top-tier law firm.- - Previous experience in a senior in-house legal counsel role will be highly regarded.- - Communicates clearly; listens, understands, and adapts to different audiences; negotiates persuasively; has the capacity to build and maintain relationships internally and externally.- - Exemplifies personal drive and integrity - self-motivated and outcomes oriented; professionalism and probity; risk-taking and personal courage; action oriented; resilience; high ethical standards; self-awareness; strong work ethic; commitment to personal development; and willingness to learn about new industries.- - Achieves Results - organized; professional; implements change; able to clarify ambiguities; closure and delivery focused; and able to direct and manage a significant change agenda.- Brookfield is committed to maintaining a Positive Work Environment that is safe and respectful; our shared success depends on it.
