**What you will do**:
- As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Collection Team, you will:
- Leverage Python to build, automate, and scale data collection pipelines and data processing workflows.
- Use JavaScript and Python to develop internal tools and dashboards that empower users to interact with data collection pipelines.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and contribute to evolving engineering standards.
- Mentor teammates, share knowledge, and help drive continuous improvement in development processes.
**What we are looking for**:
- We are seeking a results-oriented, curious, and adaptable Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in Python and modern web technologies. You should be comfortable tackling ambiguous problems, designing scalable data collection systems, and communicating clearly with global teams. Key attributes include a pragmatic approach to challenges, a relentless learner mindset, and the ability to balance speed with quality. Relevant experience includes:
- 5+ years in software engineering, with hands-on Python development.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; experience building internal tools and dashboards.
- Experience with version control (Git) and collaboration tools; strong written and spoken English for cross-border collaboration.
- Familiarity with web scraping concepts and data collection pipelines; ideally experience with Scrapy or similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) and issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira) is a plus.
**Nice to have**:
- Experience with Scrapy (Python web scraping framework) and graph databases (Neo4j) is advantageous. Prior work on scalable data extraction, storage, and processing architectures, and familiarity with security considerations in data collection are highly valued. Strong collaboration and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for keeping up-to-date with industry trends will help you stand out.
