**Truck Driver (Master Equipment Operator)**

**Starting Salary: $35,110.94**

**General Duties and Responsibilities**:Performs semi-skilled and skilled work in operating garbage trucks, including automated garbage collection trucks, rear loader garbage collection trucks, other large trucks, and performing a variety of manual work related to the transportation of refuse, including manual loading of trash as needed.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:Must have ability to operate large trucks safely; knowledge of traffic laws, general maintenance, and hazards associated with operating motorized equipment; ability to perform manual work (collecting refuse) in varying weather conditions; have the ability to work independently and adhere to garbage collection routes and schedules; have the ability to understand and interpret simple oral and written instructions and have the ability to maintain effective working relationships with citizens and coworkers.

**Requirements**:Completion of high school or GED and a minimum of two years of experience in the operation of heavy trucks required. Must have a valid NC Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) - Class B.
