**THE POSITION**

The Education and Community Engagement Director oversees Austral Group’s Experiential Learning and Business Partnership areas, responsible for the strategy, creation and oversight of all learning activities and educational experiences for our University clients.

The Education and Community Engagement department is leading the charge for the future of Austral Group and your role as the incoming Director will be to lead your team in imagining and creating educational products & services and new development initiatives. This area supports the needs of the Business Development team, and is responsible for providing exceptional content and experiences to enable the Operations team to deliver educational programs for our clients. This role requires a deft balance of addressing the company's immediate and urgent client requests, while envisioning and executing a longer-term strategy for the company to be a leader in designing and delivering compelling products to the education market.

**_This is a full-time remote position, you can work from anywhere_**

You will lead a department that is currently comprised of the following areas:

- **Experiential Learning and Business Partnerships** - these teams are responsible for creating strategic alliances and partnerships with global companies, start-ups and non-profit organizations to source learning experiences for University students. Learning experiences primarily consist of student-led short-term consulting projects for the companies. A deep understanding of the Universities' learning objectives is fundamental to a successful project engagement. This team also manages our proprietary Austral Learning Platform database, where universities can browse and select consulting projects published by our partner companies.
- Our **Innovation **area is responsible for anticipating market trends and clients’ needs to imagine, create, test, launch and scale new activities and educational products to the market.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to lead the company’s education initiatives, product development and academic programs.
- Lead a remote global team to ensure skills, knowledge, productivity, and performance to achieve the organization's needs.
- Manage a portfolio of products; lead the creation and development of new products and educational experiences.
- Analyze clients’ learning results and outcomes to identify opportunities for process improvement and product enhancement.
- Direct product and curriculum strategy and development in alignment with company goals and client educational objectives.
- Prepare and give presentations to the Executive Management team, Advisory Board, key clients and other stakeholders on our product portfolio, product development, and department initiatives.
- Define and document processes to improve efficiency, quality standards, and profit margins while optimizing product strategy and time to market.
- Oversee and manage department budget, including staffing needs and utilization.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Experience and proven success in product development and/or product management in the education field or similar setting with the ability to successfully guide products and services from conception to launch.
- Be a collaborative, transparent and engaging team leader, capable of developing and motivating a diverse and distributed global team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and processes using performance reports, data, and quantitative analysis.
- Native or full fluency in English; additional languages desirable.
- Ability to listen deeply to client feedback, ideas and concerns, anticipate market needs, and harness technology to create and develop educational and learning products and services.
- Strong communicator who can articulate a vision and strategy to colleagues and clients.
- Embrace, support, and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ideally has a track record of building inclusive teams.
- Learner’s mindset to understand the Austral Group’s strong internal culture, and flourish in a mission-driven organization.
- Familiarity with educational products, product design, development, and customer experience.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, IT, Finance, and other departments.
- A mind for objective, data-driven decisions; quantitative and qualitative decision-making skills.
- High degree of ethics, integrity, and sound professional judgment.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Santiago de Chile, Región Metropolitana: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
